[HOW TO] Install Custom ROMs with Goomanager

Hi All,

Im trying to update my EOS 3 JB. I followed the above GooManager instructions but after I push "Flash" in GooManager it reboots my Xoom into CWM recovery and does nothing. Any ideas?

read the reply right above yours. goo manager doesnt work with JB just yet

Runandhide05 came up with a workaround for using goo manager with Jelly Bean:

Ya I think everyone is trying to get open script to work with jellybean.
A little hint, if you open goo manager and change download path to /data/media open script will work(ish) you will get a ton (376) "an error has occurred" , but everything still installs.

Just for clarity, here's what you need to do.

From the main menu, select 'Settings', then 'Download Path', then type '/data/media/goomanager/', then click 'Ok'.

Goo manager can now update your Jelly Bean ROMs again, you just need to ignore all the spurious errors it will generate.

I am gonna start updating my eos nightlies with goomanager i reckon, thanks to zigackly and runandhide for the guide and paths guidance...

Looking at the gapps packages available thru goo the most up to date is jb20120802....which is what i am on. I used the standard zip install thru cwm for my first jb install (135) and this tool looks very easy particularly for nightlies like this.

So question i ask is do i need to flash the same gapps im already using in goo or just update to 137 nightlie?

you can just flash the nightly no need to reflash gapps, just dont wipe data

is it giving you any error messages? what recovery are you using? if you use goo manager to flash a recovery, you can choose twrp which is a very nice recovery

Non of above working for me, just send me to cwm when i try to flash? What am i missing here.

did you change the path in goo manager? look at post #13 in this thread

Yeh changed paths to /data/media/goomanager/ - gonna try again with next nightlie (seems the best way to update these) but tried updating 135 and just kept returning me to cwm.
