ADB not working after unlocking bootloader. Please help a n00b.

I am in the process of rooting my WiFi Xoom. I unlocked the bootloader with no issues, and I also downloaded all listed files and extracted them to platform-tools directory. After going through the quick setup screen on the Xoom, I then tried to proceed with the root... I now have no connection established with ADB. Running adb devices shows nothing, where it has up until now.

What did I do wrong? This is the first Android device I have owned, so please bear with me... Thanks for any help you can provide.

(also, when extracting the xoomwifiroot.zip to platform tools, there is a boot.img already included. is this the tiamat img, or should I delete this one and put the tiamat one in it's place?)

OK first off what computer system are you running? Secondly try toggeling usb debugging off then back on and see if it shows up after that.

Don't laugh, but Windows Vista... I tried toggling the debug, and also disconnected and reconnected the USB cable.

Also, I just noticed something odd. When toggling debug mode on and off, the Xoom doesn't show up at all under the computer tab. When turning it off, then it shows up as a "portable device" and not a removable drive. It also makes the noise like usual when connecting a USB device.

It was working fine before, not sure why it all of a sudden is giving me issues after unlocking the bootloader.

Nothing. Says "list of devices attached" and nothing underneath. It originally showed the serial number, now nothing.

You can unlock without having adb setup correctly. Like steady said what comes up for adb devices?

Have you double checked the path your running commands from?

If u have adb in tools you should run from tools and id its in platform-tools run from there. Also could be a driver issue.

I had already put adb so I could run it from any directory. I just decided to delete and reinstall all the drivers with the Motorola driver helper exe... It actually worked. I have no idea why it all of a sudden stopped working, but that seems to have taken care of it (for now ).

If anyone else has a similar problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling all of the motorola drivers.

Thanks for the help guys, I truly appreciate it. I hope to get caught up to speed quickly and hopefully be able to contribute something to the forum.
