Question about Xoom bootloader unlocking and locking

Can someone help with this problem, I plan on unlocking bootloader and then rooting my xoom. I will also be installing overclock kernal, but then want to know if relocking bootloader will erase root and overclock kernal. The only reason I wish to relock bootloader after these steps, is that I want to be ready for the 4G upgrade and software updates (OTA updates) If I do decide to relock bootloader and I noticed it asks to reload official software before relocking, then should I use the original boot.img file to flash, so that its back to factory fresh state. I would appreciate any help in this matter.

In order to get the upgrade to 4g you would more than likely have to be back to complete stock. If upgrading is a priority for you, I would recommend to hold off until afterwards to mod. Once you lock the bootloader again you will lose root. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I appreciate the input and figured that I would lose root because I would have to reload official software before relocking. I guess as long as relocking bootloader reverts back to stock then I'm very comfortable with going this route. I remain patient though on rooting and overclocking my xoom. Does anyone have the original boot.img for the locked bootloader. Thanks for everyones help.

The bootloader can be turned on and off using adb commands. I would recommend waiting to do any in depth Modding until we have SD support so we can make nandroids.

Hopefully around the same time we getting flash support...other than shots in the dark I believe a few weeks was the timetable.
