Rooting with Mac?

Hi everyone...ex lurker, I'm no stranger to Android I've Owned a 3G, OG Droid, and now a Thunderbolt. I've never rooted any of my devices, simply put I want to get the most out of my Xoom. While I've looked through root guides I've seen nothing specified for OSX and I have no clue what adb is...any help?

I am on Mac as well.

You need to download:
- android file transfer utility
- android SDK
- fastboot-Mac

Let me know If you need specific links (I am on my phone right now).

If you are familiar with the ma console (Terminal) you should be able to follow Steady's guides almost literally.

Minor difference is that Windiws uses fastboot and Mac uses fastboot-mac

I try to stay versed in both. If you own a Mac, Parallels helps you get the best of both worlds.

I have written a walk through that allows you to root a stock 3.1 on a mac(no virtual pc stuff..purely ona mac). Haven't released it yet, but I center send it to you if you are interested in trying it.
