Xoom 3.1 WiFi Cannot Get Root (data transfer failure too many links)

    Hey,

Sorry if I overlooked an answer for this but I spent the last 2 hours browsing about and I couldn't get anything specific on this issue.

Once I get to the step where you enter 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' is where I have the problem. I enter adb reboot bootloader, get to a screen that has 'Starting Fastboot protocol support' in white text. After I get into this mode though my device isn't recognized by the adb anymore. So once I put in 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' nothing happens. After 5 minutes it will time out and give me the error 'data transfer failure <too many links>'.

Anyone encounter/know how to resolve the problem? Maybe it is late and I'm missing something, but I don't see it right now.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 if that helps narrow down any potential issues.

    Thanks,

    Dark

Did you put the recovery.img in the path you are running commands from and make sure its named recovery.img?

Yep, sure did. Double checked in case I lost my mind.

I think the real issue is that once it reboots it isn't recognized anymore so I can't push any commands to the device.
