What did it say when you flashed the recovery? Usually it will say if it was successful or not. Try to refash it again, the recovery image needs to be in the folder your running your commands from, usually your tools folder - cd C:\SDK_tools. After a successful flash immediately press power and volume up button until the screen starts turning black, then start tapping volume down until you see recovery in the upper left, tap volume up to enter recovery.

When I flash the clockwork img with fastboot, it comes up with

    "Starting Fastboot protocol support"
    "OneWire:Charger is connected..."
    "Device: 0x8000 (hp0). Battery charge level: 46%"
"Flashing StorMgr partition recovery STATUS: - done!"

So i am more then likely presuming that it flashed the clockwork recovery to the system?

Yes, I would go to the next step. All though I've never seen line 2 and 3 when I've fastbooted anything. Also it has been reported that you need to use the usb cable that came with the Xoom, some of the others cause problems.

There is a next step? I have already tried rebooting and looked for "Android Recovery" in the top left hand corner by scrolling through the options, but still all I get is RSD,NVFlash and Fastboot :S. If it's any consellation, I tried to boot back into my xoom and when it had booted, I used the "adb reboot recovery" command to boot into recovery straight away, and when I boot into that, all I get is the little android man with a "!" in the middle of the screen. Could it be that it doesn't work on Australian xooms, or am I just doing something completely wrong?

EDIT: I also am using the stock USB cable that came with my xoom

It's got something to do from where you're running commands from I would guess. See if you set up your adb according the the Easy ADB at the top of this link.

Yep, I've set up my adb according to this one, and still nothing. I put my SDK_Tools in my C:\ root and launched adb via cmd and loaded my xoom through "adb devices" and it gave me the alphanumeric string for my tablet, and then I continued on with the rest of the process, first by unlocking my tablet with "fastboot oem unlock" and then "fastboot reboot" (I did this all through adb in command prompt) then I rebooted the bootloader "adb reboot bootloader" and flashed the recovery "fastboot flas recovery recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img" and that's when I got the message which I posted beforehand. It seems as if its not flashing properly, again probably something to do with my behalf, but i'm still stumped as to what it is. I'm sorry this is in the wrong section aswell, I just thought it would be better ask these questions in the original thread to make referencing easier. Thankyou for your help thusfar!

Take a little break and relax a bit, sometimes when we get frustrated we miss that little step. One thing to make it a little easier, the recovery image you downloaded - rename it to recovery.img - shorter and less chance to make an error typing. You would just type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.

No worries, yep good idea, I really should relax, and yes i'm getting rather frustrated with this at the moment! I will rename the file and attempt again just to make sure it wasn't a spelling mistake, but i'm sure cmd would have said the file didnt exist if there was. Is there anyway that the recovery partition has been damaged? If so would it make a difference if I put the stock recovery on there and tried to reflash clockwork onto it or would that just be making it even more frustrating?

EDIT: Alright I'm in recovery now and I see Android System recovery <3e>- So in other words clockwork wasn't flashed?

It shouldn't have been damaged. The stock recovery is the android with the "!". I have never seen two lines about the charger and the battery before. When you try again you might try another cable if you have one.

I was just sitting down for lunch and something else crossed my mind. In the past on my android phones it wouldn't fastboot if the battery was below a certain level, If you're in the middle of fastbooting something and the battery goes ou your shot out of luck. When you try next either make sure it fas a full charge or it's plugged in to power, that might be why you got line 2 and 3, just a though.
