[Q] Bootstrap recovery, bootloader and kernel modules?

Ok I have a couple question about development on the xoom FE. If you look at the droid x/2, droid 1-4, droid razr, atrix 2 etc development on xda, you see that all those devices have locked bootloaders but still have decent amount of dev thanks to a bootstrap recovery. Is there anyway we could port a bootstrap recovery to the Xoom FE? It would allow for more development then we have now. Also are we even sure if our bootloader is locked on the FE? Or just that we cant access/dont have a recovery partition? Also what about a kernel module that could allow a overclock? Like many moto omap devices have. If anyone knows please reply

My two cents...I wouldn't buy a Motorola device again...the RAZR could be one of the best fastest phone if it wasn't for that lame locked bootloader

Well actually to my knowledge no device with official form factory that had honeycomb has a working bootstrap or safe strap. And all of the hijack files that r use to hijack the boot do not work on theses tabs, nor do they work on any number of devices that have honeycomb or ics as a factory rom...
Basically even on the og Xoom the hijack does not work. ( I know its unlocked but I built the cmw recovery and bootstrap from koushes source and it still would not work on it) also does not work on the gnex or any other devices that run honeycomb.
So I say all that to state that a new method would need to be developed to hijack the boot on these devices.
And if anyone does come across a device that runs hc or ics that has a working bootstrap let me know!!!

Maybe when phones like the razr get ICS, Koush and other devs will port the Bootstrap recovery, somehow . Or if not maybe we could do something similar to how those with Sony xperia devices that dont want to unlock bootloader use CWM, [RECOVERY][14/11/11] 5.0.2.7-nAa-r2 ClockworkMod for Stock Xperia Mini/Pro/Active/Arc - xda-developers That actually installs CWM in /system.

Problem with that is that u cant realy do anything other than make a backup or flash themed zips. Cant install any rom because it would format the /system which is where that recovery would be

Well not really, the ROM developer can just include the Recovery files necessary in the /system folder of the rom, then put the right permissions in the updater script. So then it would wipe system, install custom ROM + the /system CWM again. Im pretty sure that is what most of the xperia custom roms did, before sony provided the bootloader unlock tool.
