    Unroot Xoom FE?

    Hello there,

I'm new here, and I want to know if there is a way to UNROOT the Xoom FE.

A while ago, I did root my FE, but then I screwed up something, and I had to ship the tablet back for a system restore, the hard reset didn't even work. I got my tablet like new, and I'm tempted to root it again, but I would like to know if there is a way to unroot it, in case something happens.

Also, with the announcement of ICS, would there be an issue with a rooted FE updating to ICS??

    Thanks!

I you used the root exploit that creates a /data/local.prop, you should be able to just delete it (and restoring directory permissions is probably best) and then reboot:

    adb shell "rm /data/local.prop"
    adb shell "chmod 771 /data"
    adb shell "chmod 770 /cache"
    adb shell "chmod 775 /tmp"

Incidentally, I think my sound stopped working on mine until I did the unroot.

Are you referring to the exploit posted by Dan Rosenberg? This is what I used to root my FE. The script Dan created also installs Superuser. In addition to the adb commands you posted above, would I need to run some kind of command to uninstall Superuser?
