This is a discussion on Xoom Software Downloads within the Motorola Xoom FAQ forums, part of the Motorola Xoom Help category; Thank you Astrix!...
Can someone give me specific step-by-step instructions on how to do this? Everything I'm reading on here seems to be geared towards people that have done this before. LOL I'm new to this sort of thing.
I definitely have an Asian version. It even says "ASIA" in the firmware ID. It's an H.6.6-23 Build number. Yes, I bought it off of Amazon.
I have been able to get my laptop to recognize the Xoom, so that's not an issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

<<What you need to download and what you need to do?
A. Xoom USB Driver: Download and Install: here
Using original Xoom USB Cable that come with your Xoom is advisable
B. Set Up Easy ADB On Your PC: Need for this process.
1. Download the EasyADB(SDK_tools.zip): here
2. Extract the SDK_tools.zip files
3. Copy the extracted SDK_tools folder
4. Navigate to the root of your PC C: drive
5. Paste SDK_tools folder to the root of your PC C: drive
Download the Motorola Xoom Official Stock files/images from the link, Unzip/extract the file and place the contents in the EasyADB/SDK_tools folder:here
Open command prompt in Windows Start icon (in search textfield type in cmd and press enter)

fastboot flash boot boot.img

Use volume rocker to select ok and then xoom will reboot.
At this point you should be in the region that you had choose.>>
Once I got into DOS and typed "cd C:\SDK_tools
adb reboot bootloader"
I get: Error: Device not Found
Meanwhile my laptop is recognizing it just fine.
When I did this, I selected the MZ604 US Retail, becaue that's what i want it to BE... or is that not what I want it to do? None of the MZ604's match my build number, that's where I got confused.
The closest one I see is "Build H.6.2-24 for Retail Other International" and it covers "Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, South Africa, Israel"

You going for Us Xoom version?
Then choose US Retail HW169.
Dont worry of the build no. It will change in every update.
The file that was downloaded was MZ604_HWI69.zip..
Inside was a folder by the same name..
Inside the folder is 4 "disc image files"... Boot, Recovery, System, and Userdata.
Am I supposed to extract stuff off of those disc image files as well?
Yes 4 images, put it in the sdk-tools folder.
Device not found?
- Driver install? : here
- Ensure your USB debugging is enable before you connect Xoom to PC ( Setting> Application> development> tick USB debugging)
- Install window media player 11, if you have'nt.
- Use USB cable that come with your Xoom.
