Xoom Software Downloads

for those with a Xoom (both wifi and 4g lte, umts, 3g), and want to change the region/language, here is how to do it.

Buy a Xoom in one country and want to use it another, got a chinese Xoom or south american Xoom, are you tired of waiting for Honeycomb 3.2/ICS/JB, etc.

Flash the country region/build of your choice.

Get your build here:

5. Click the “Request access” link – this will send us an email with your request.
6. We will grant you access within 24 hours of the first business day that your request is received. You will receive an email to your Gmail account, with a link to the downloadable software

note- be sure to go into Settings>Developer Options and check 'USB Debugging'

Please help me.
My xoom is from China and I want to fit Brazil's market.
I have downloaded the img files from AUTODEV. Where do I install them?
With China settings I can't acess the Android Market apk.

download the motodev pack for your location/build, follow the instructions to flash itby unlocking Xoom, then relock

download and install sdk_tools
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

copy the below files to the same place the sdk file is, then open command prompt on pc

cd C:\SDK_tools
adb.exe
adb device

Instructions to Flash & Re-Lock Your Motorola XOOM:

fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock

Note: If no userdata.img file is present in your download, please issue the command: fastboot erase userdata

After researching and finally ordering a Motorola Xoom...it arrived today and its not a US region device. I'm trying to decide between returning it and changing the Xoom's region. I updated to Honeycomb 3.1 as soon as I got it. The Build number is H.6.4-20...would these steps work for this?

Welcome to the forum.Glad you decided to join us. They should, you will need to download and install the Moto Xoom drivers and have adb installed on your PC. Some of the images are fastboot and some use RSD.

Thanks dude. I'm looking for all the info I can find on doing those....only had the thing out the box for 4 hrs...and dang it...I don't wanna send it back!

Xoom moto drivers here and adb here. You would follow these instructions using the images from the OP if it's a WiFi Xoom. I have a WiFi only Xoom and no other devices so don't know about RSD.

Will this solve the problem I'm having with my Xoom where it does not recognise my UK SIM Card? (The XOOM came from SEA, though I'm not sure which region it actually is).
