WMV files seriously? I would NEVER expect a Linux/Android device to be able to play them.
Everything is moving to H.264 (or VC-1 on the Windows side) Convert/Re-encode them
I would use MPEG Streamclip if you don't have anything

If they weren't compatible it would say so. If it force closes its probably an app/video issue. Wipe data/cache in the video player.
well maybe because that's a windows file format not a universal file format. #imjustsaying
Convert it to mp4 or avi
AVI is older than WMV. While DivX and many other still use the extension but I would not be maing AVI files either.

Umm after i pasted that I noticed the Google format VP8.

My point is this thing should be able to do whatever you throw at it...all this hardware going to waste IMO. Christ my DX can do more, I hate to bitch and moan but this thing isn't living up to the hype that is being advertised. If Moto is looking to take the portability market they need some fixes and quick, video is a major concern for me and unless you encode in 1080p the quality is horrible, if you rip a DVD it should look like a DVD not a washed out VCR tape. Alright I'm done crying for the moment sorry guys....

Well:
* Well there is but they are very very short
- Windows files not playing is a Micro$oft licensing issue. if the F sticks at M$ would have accepted and used H.264 when the rest of the world went to it back in May 2003 we would not be having this conversation. M$ drgged their heels SO LOOOOOONG on this it makes me crazy just thinking about it.
- A DVD rip to 1080p is ass backwards since the most a DVD can be is 720 × 480 pixel or 480p if you like. There is no such thing as an HD DVD*
- My DVD rips look awesome with either DVDcat or Handbrake
Lol I know what your saying, that's why I dont use M$ products any longer. As far as the 1080p thing I had mentioned, unless you have a BluRay 1080p source and rip that to watch on the xoom @ 1080p the colors/saturation is horrible. I have a few regular DVDs of my favorite movies that I wanted to put on here so I ripped them using HandBrake and they were somewhat minor pixelated looking and colors weren't as good as the original dvd, I realize your going to loose some in compression but they were really off. Also my wife has a I pad so just to see if it was something I did wrong so I placed the same file on there and it looked very close to the original dvd. What is it that the I pad does that this device doesn't do?
