Depends on whether its cost effective to motorola and if the hardware can support it. So there should be no reason we dont get it....eventually. And although ICS is supposedly optimized for the OMAP processors I'm sure Tegra 2 will be supported. The problem for Motorola is if they dont push ICS (assuming there is no hardwar issues) people that want ICS will have to buy a new device and there would be a lot of happy Xoom customers that will purposely not by Motorola for that reason. I mean come on you've seen how whiney and impatient a lot of these forum members are havent you?

well they did i agree not long ago.that android devices will be supported for 18 months.so if they hold true to that we should get ics.

But wasn't that from ICS going forward -- meaning that devices released before it aren't necessarily subject to the same 18 month guideline? I could be mistaken but given that I am up in Canada, I kinda don't expect it to the new year if we're lucky.

In Australia we have been told by our telcon Telstra that 1: We won't get a 4g upgrade, even though they have now set it up on their network, after having been told at point os sale we would have it. They are saying future devices only! 2: They have also told us no ICS and we are battling them to try and get 3.2!

Moi aussi .... the first thing I did is root my device, second thing was install US Roms.
I mean it is a "WiFi Xoom", WiFi is the same in the US or Canada it makes no sense waiting for Motorola Canada.

When ICS is released??? October maybe or even November it is my hope that Google releases the source code as they promised they would, and then one one the things I love about the Android Community is there are many, many smart hobbyists and programmers that will in short time give us great ROMs...... Maybe even Cynogen??? Now do not get me wrong I love Tiamat and they done many great things with what they have, but I imagine it will not take long once ICS is released before we start seeing many, many ROMs.

Have you gotten Netflix to work? That was one of the things that held me back --- finding out that my fellow Canadians who rooted and flashed to US firmware couldn't get their netflix working. Of course, this isn't an issue if you don't use it. I would switch to US firmware in an instant if it worked.
