Xoom and external battery pack . Help electronic people

Thinling about buying a car jump starter model jnc300xl. It has a 12 v socket on it so I can use it to charge xoom through the car charger. The battery in it is a 9000mah battery. That's all the info I've got. I'm no expert in calculating this kind of stuff but

But since xooms batterys are double 2250 mah that's 5000 mah.

    9000mah / 5000mah = 1.8 charges
Minus probably 20% loss that chargers usually suffer
    thats 1.44 charges
Will this type of battery suffer if Its discharged below half? If so then what wpuld you expect from this battery regarding charge times for xoom? Like 75% ?

I'm probably way off base but the thing weighs 9 lbs and id hoped it could atleast charge xoom fully once or ideally twice

Any one who knows how to actually calculate this help would be appreciated

I've tried a few of those phone re-chargers a while back and they absolutely sucked. I'd get full charge on the secondary battery that was supposed to charge my phone 3 to 4 times and it would give me 20% more on the first recharge and maybe 15 on the 2nd. It would show full, then it would drain really really fast.

Now, this was 4 years ago and it was a cheapy Japanese ebay POS.

Now if I can buy it at a retailer where I know for a fact I can return it for a refund, then YES I say jump on it. If it's ebay or an online thing, I say no.
Proverbs 21:9 "Better to live alone in a tumbledown shack than share a mansion with a nagging wife." You might not believe in Jesus Christ or the Holy Bible but you've got to admit this verse is 100% true. Can I gets an AMEN!

The internal Xoom batteries are 3250mAH. The charger which comes with the unit has a maximum output of 2.5A. My guess is that the Xoom cells are being charged at 1/4 to 1/2C which is between a quarter and half capacity of the cells. This would be backed by the fact that a FULL charge of the Xoom takes about two hours. The standard charging cycle for Lithium cells is an initial charge input of, in our case, 1.5 to 2.0A which then tapers off to a about 100mA until fully charged. If this is so then the maximum draw from the external battery would be 1.5-2.0AH which should, if you are doing FULL charges, give you at least 4 charges from the external pack before it would need to be recharged. Of course you may end up with more charges because you may not necessarily discharge the Xoom completely each time and of course because the external battery is not being discharged at a high current rate for the whole time the charging is under-way.

    I hope this helps?

    Cheers,
