    Why root?

    I am new tothe zoom, and i havse read about how to root, and understand the proceedures, but do i need to? What will this enable me to accomplish.
    Just looking for some specific answers.

    No you don't need to root, it's just an option.

    For me anyway, root is necessary so that I can backup my data from various apps. I hate having to restart my progress in Angry Birds everytime I reset or change Android devices. Root also allows me to backup SMS messages and restore them to a new ROM or different device. Another use for root is tweaking various device settings.

    The bottom line is that it really depends on the user and what your needs are. If you change devices a lot, like I do, it is very useful. If you flash roms regularly, it is necessary and useful. Your mileage may vary.

    mfrgs12 I was where you are now rooting is great Just take your time when doing flashing things over is easy from the words a Steady "start sweating bullets" lol its really not that bad
