so who is using the xoom's barometer to check the weather?

you can download the free app 'barometer hd', and there is a chart here to tell you what the 'inHg' readings mean. with this you no longer have to rely on news weather forcasts anymore.

its a digital and analog barometer.

for example, my current inHg is steady ( reading is not rising or falling) 29.12 which means ' Clearing, Cooler' ... sky clearing, and temp is dropping

its been raining the last few days, now the clouds are almost gone, and you can see the stars, and it is starting to get a bit chilly

the lower the inHg, cloudy overcast, rainy/storms coming, wheras the higher the inHg- the more fair and warmer the next 12-24 hours will be

fast drops mean trouble and nasty weather is coming

A visual of the Analog 'needle' is roughly like this (if you look at it in the sense of a clock):
Is it going to rain today? Is it going to stay fine? And how can you tell? One easy way is to measure the air pressure. If it's rising and the pressure is high, chances are it'll be a fine day; if the pressure is falling, it's more likely to be wet, windy, and dull.

    8 o'oclock is "stormy Weather"
    10 o'clock is "rainy Weather"
12 o'clock is "little change- Present conditions holding"
2 o'clock is "fair weather- nice day"
4 o'clock is "very Dry Conditions"

I use my barometer during hurricane season, during planting season, and for my work sites. There is a pretty cool barometer app over on the Moto forum too.

do you have the link? the only thing that would make it better is something that tells the temp, but i dont think the xoom has that feature

No, I sure don't. Someone wrote an app and posted it there quite a while back.
