Motorola Xoom keeps rebooting itself during use.

I bought my Xoom from Amazon US over a month ago and it keeps rebooting itself during use. I contacted motorola UK and they said they could not repair it as it was purchased in the US. I contacted motorola US and they tell me i need a US address and the warranty does not apply outside the US. I now have a brand new Xoom that does not work and motorola will not reapir. Amazon have a 30 day return polity but that has expired. Casn anyone please help? i have reset the device several times.

Welcome to the forum.:Glad you decided to join us. You might try a factory data reset, this will put your to the state it was in when you purchased it. Menu>settings>factory data reset. It could be a bad app too, you could uninstall all the apps you've installed and reinstall them one at a time to see if this helps.

Yes i did the factory reset to no avail. I have no apps on it except the ones that were there from the start. This problem was on the device from the beginning.

Really don't know what else to tell you, looks like you're caught in a Catch-22! Maybe someone else will have some ideas later.

have you tried creating a mailbox in the US? there are many companies/stores that offer this, and you can set it up online, then use this box forwarded .

another option is to send to someone you trust ( maybe someone in the forum here), and have them send it in for you, and then send it back to you afterwards ( you pay shipping costs naturally).

Thanks rive, they will pick up the unit at the US adress no PO box so that will not work. my sister work's in the US and i am thinking of sending it to her and probably will' but the fact is it will be hassle to her and the motorola help up service is bad, also it will cost me to send it to the US in the first place.

Your only way is to unlock it and reflash a clean US 3.0.1 image then you will start to get the updates to 3.1 then 3.2 then 3.2.1 and I suggest that you follow my instructions in the non US forum section to flash it

I have the exact same problem and desperately looking for fixes. Brand new Xoom and it just reboots itself, even if there is no human activity happening. Have done factory reset multiple times. No custom apps other than what it came up with. Any pointers is highly appreciated.
