Observation about screen contrast from a Imac owner
OK, so a lot has been written about the "washed out" aspect of the Xoom screen in comparison to an Ipad. As my wife owns an Ipad, I got the opportunity to make a fairly direct comparison tonight. She was playing Angry Birds Rio HD Free for Ipad. I had the full Angry Birds Rio from the Amazon store. Without a question, her graphics were more saturated and higher contrast than mine. However, they did not look more "natural".
But the bigger point I want to make is that as an Imac owner, I have Windows XP also installed on this machine using Bootcamp. My observation is that Windows XP, on the same panel, looks less saturated and lower contrast when run on the Imac under Bootcamp. It really seems like hyped contrast and color saturation is programmed into Apple software as part of their trademark look.
Which makes me wonder...what options can the Android people unlock in software to give users more control over functions like contrast? Is "control panel" like functionality possible?

That is a very good point... more contrast and color saturation are not always a good thing. They ship TVs that way (in "flamethrower mode") so they sell on the showroom floor under bright fluorescent lights next to other TVs that also have jacked up contrast and saturation. The first thing most people who care about picture quality do when they get it home is change the display settings to something more natural.
People who work with photos and stuff calibrate their displays so they are accurate. Not sure if that can be done with the xoom.

The more I look at it I think it's actually a glare reflection on the inside of the glass causing the washed out desaturated look, although I could be wrong....LOL

The Control Panel option would be nice.
