    (rumor) JellyBean out this summer?

While some of you are still waiting around (possibly indefinitely) for Ice Cream Sandwich to land on your Android device, “inside sources” are reporting that Google could be ramping up development of the next version of Android 5.0 Jelly Bean, with a release sometime during the 2nd quarter of this year. According to Digitimes, Google is looking to beat Microsoft’s tablet friendly Windows 8 out of the gate, with Jelly Bean bringing a renewed focus on the tablet experience.

Google’s coup de grace will be Jelly Bean’s unique ability to dual-boot into Chrome OS, without having to reboot or shutdown the tablet. I know that sounds a little strange, so, we’re going to assume they meant a better integration of Chrome within the Android OS. Of course, this is all speculation and rumor, but with Google I/O fast approaching, I’m sure it wont be long before Google announces something on Jelly Bean.

Curious, what exactly will Chrome add to Android in terms of functionality, in a tablet?

Android 5.0 Jelly Bean tipped for Q2 2012 - SlashGear

This makes a lot more sense. I guess, Google is banking on the stickiness and popularity of apps on Android to drive usage of its products. Interesting for Google, and also for users as they will be able to use android apps.

The dual-booting Android 5.0 Jelly Bean and Windows 8 machines will be able to hot-swap between the two platforms, the sources indicate, rather than demanding a reboot each time. That would give users the opportunity to use Android for its web-centric functionality and speed, while switching to Windows would offer the various legacy and business apps many users still demand. Update: It’s worth remembering that Microsoft’s Windows 8 hardware requirements apparently block second OS installation on ARM-based PCs by users, thanks to a locked Secure Boot system, though it’s unclear whether OEMs are permitted to do so before the hardware leaves the factory.

Yeah but they might let the newish phones have ICS (like GS2) than drop JB on more newer devices (G Nex)
