Yep Adobe Flash on ICS Sucks....Adobe Knows it but its not a Priority...YOU CAN HELP!

The current version of Adobe Flash for ICS isn't taking advantage of hardware acceleration in GPU for video which means things like using Flash Video while using HDMI out, using HBOGO via web, and using Amazon instant video is just horrible as video is choppy and causes Motorola Xoom, Transformer TF101 and other tablets to crash.. A bug report was filed back in January but per Adobe's bug track status and their own statements "Due to Projects schedules it isn't a current priority as it doesn't effect a large percentage of users."

What can you do?

If you experience these issues you should head over to Adobe's site, leave a comment on the bug report and vote it up. They keep setting the status on it to "ToTrack" which means:
"If bug is set as ToTrack or Closed as Defer, it means we have reproduced the problem, but unfortunately, it does not get high enough priority to address in our current release. We track follow up messages and votes info for each bug. Please help us to vote the bug if you run into the same issue, let us know the impact for your development and business. Thank you."

Right now only has 22 votes, so Adobe seems to think its just a minor problem. If you want this fixed, get over to adobe's site, leave a comment and vote this bug up so they get off their........pocket protectors. And spread the word, the only way this is going to get fixed is if we keep on Adobe to get it fixed.

Thanks for the update. I voted back in January and it's sad to see Adobe sticking their finger in our eye. Double sad for me - I bought the Adobe Lightroom 4 update yesterday and like many users who have posted on Adobe's Lightroom forum, it is unusable for me because it's performance sucks on my machine (should note that users are seeing this on very high-end platforms so it's not purely a horsepower issue). As a professional s/w engineer, I really question the type and breadth of Adobe's testing. Or do they see these issues and just toss the products over the fence? Either way, it says volumes about their quality assurance.

Not to reduce your excitement, but Adobe will no longer be developing flash for the mobile platform. Bug fixes? Maybe...Just maybe but don't expect anything prompt. And asking for GPU support is NOT a bug fix.

I disagree that this is not a bug fix as Adobe broke existing functionality/capability when they left it out of the new version.

They have admitted it a bug. The issue isn't getting them to recongize its a bug. The issue is they don't believe that ICS has enough market penetration that the bug is actually causing problems for a significant amount of individuals. So they haven't prioritized the fix.

If they have admitted it as a bug, then I am wrong, they may address it at some point, if it isn't too much of work. But the larger issue here is that Flash on mobile is over... so they have no interest.

Though, As a consumer, I would like them to continue developing Flash on mobile.
