    Difficult 64g memory card

Only my experience. After a bit of difficulty finding something that would Fat 32 format my new 64G card I proceeded to load it with videos. After loading in around 20 I checked Win7 properties and it indicated around 35G used. Fine. Put card into Xoom and it wouldn’t boot, period. Removing card and Xoom booted fine. Checking card again and it showed 0 bytes used or available. Got many messages that Windows cannot format nor can other formatters I tried. Defective card or Xoom problem? Sandisk email “help” wasn’t, perhaps translating plain English or poor standard answers exist. ANY IDEAS? TIA

Thanks, I tried that and ended up using HP 32 bit formater and got about 20 videos on it for a total of around 34G. Put it in the Xoom and it locked up the Xoom until removed. Now it's a useless card that shows 0 bytes used and available.

My first one did something like that and took it back to where I bought it and they were able to format it for me.

I am in another thread about the trouble I had trying to format my 64GB card using a computer, windows XP with SP2 and various formatters and even using Win 7 pro 64 bit.

Finally went to town and into Cellular One store. Explained my dilemma to the sales consultant and she readily volunteered a phone for me to use to format the card.

It worked perfectly, took only seconds and then was recognized by xoom on first boot and worked flawlessly ever since.

My suggestion would be to forget computers, at least windoze based ones, and just use a recent era smartphone.

Good luck and I hope this works and your card is not actually defective, Chris.

That's where I got the first one, ordered online and returned at the store. Just told them it wouldn't format in fat32 at the house and they got it formatted at the store.
