Unlocked MZ601 3G in USA

Hi All,


I have a MZ601 stock rom etc Xoom 3G - I travel alot and having an unlocked unit was the way forward for me. However I have a T-Mobile USA account and get SIM, and I must say the network performance in NYC sucks.

I only get EDGE in Brooklyn, where according to T-Mobile I should be getting 3G or 4G. Ive checked my APN settings and all good. Is this a T-Mobile problem or do these units struggle in the US !?

Welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us. I'm wifi only and not in NY but I have friends there with T-Mobile that get 12Mbps to 16Mbps download speeds there.

With my Galaxy S-II from T-Mo I had to get a new 4G sim card.

If you can find a T-Mobile retail store if it's the sim card they should be able to help you with that.

In the xoom there is no option, do you think its the SIM, its meant to be 4G SIM as its part of the pre pay contract.

Not sure, as I said my Xooms wifi only.
