    It is not root related and thanks for the answers guys! Really appreciated but I have one more question how does the dock charger work? Where does it charge from? I noticed that it has a plug to put in via the micro usb port along with the pins that I presume go in the gold squares next to the other ports, why is there two different charging points?

    To the OP... Have you tried calling Motorola for a new charger? They have excellent customer service and might send you a replacement.

    The Dock connects to your Xoom Charger. The USB plug on the dock is to allow audio output via the 3.5mm audio jack on the back of the dock. If your charger isn't working, the dock won't solve your issue!

    The charger and dock are two different pieces. I don't have to use my Xoom charger on my dock, it has it's own power supply provided.

    The dock does charge the Xoom though, so I'm not clear why it wouldn't help.

    Especially since the charger is a known issue with the OG Xoom, I have both dock and I never use the pin charger.
