call icon greyed out in maps

anyone else notice the call icon is greyed out in the google maps?

its a pain in butt to look up address (say Dominoes pizza), and cant click the number to call on Xoom. i have to then google it, get the number and click it.

The Xoom is not a phone, and cannot itself make calls. That's why it is greyed out!

i make calls all the time from my'Xoom simply clicking a number and dialing out. the maps call icon should be functional, or there may be a setting somewhere im thinking to enable

if you use google maps in browser mode the call icon is usable and functional.

Well here's what I know: the Xoom doesn't contain a GSM radio, and thus cannot make phone calls. The only way you can make phone calls with a Xoom is if you're using Skype or some other VOIP service.
Google Maps expects the Android Dialer app to be present, which of course it isn't on the Xoom because it's not a phone, otherwise it greys out the call-related features in most of its applications.

maybe Maps detects that you are on a tablet so it grays out that function.

no it doesnt in google maps browser view, dialer app is present, and you can click the call icon, and it will dial out
the app itself'greys out the call icon, prehaps bigdave is right, perhaps the Xoom ics app is not fully functional, is there a way to otherwise activate it/is only recourse to install another apk version?

Is there an ap to click to call using skype on xoom?

On the dialler it says GrooVe IP which is an app that uses VoIP.
