but like ggrant says, the specific model would be significantly helpful. this is the og xoom.
oops... for some reason it will not let me upload a screen shot, but you can still observe the internal organs.

maybe, this will work... or not!
Now i've the problem. it's come from the Texas Instruments 54331 Step Down SWIFT DC/DC Converter with Eco-Mode. how to fix it?![]()
Does this happen when doing intensive stuff? I find that mine gets pretty warm if I'm watching a lot of streaming uh... video.
Sometimes mine gets hot there but i think there is a few reasons. One for sure is when i am out and about and 4g is on. If the xoom is in its pouch and on the floor where it doesnt get a good signal then it gets power controlled to turn up the transmitter to full output and will be hot when i get home. Solution to that is to keep it in airplane mode and turn wifi on when needed so that 4g isnt getting used. Other times is when watching videos or also listening to Sirius. But that is due to it processing data so cant be avoided. Other than that it runs pretty cool. There was one rom version that seemed to make it run a bit warm also, i think it was keeping the processor running for some reason but that was fixed in a newer rom nightly. So check to see if some app is running unnecessarily or maybe the 4g is doing it. I would assume that your battery life is shorter too?

does the device only become warm when using this step-down converter?
Mine gets warm but only when using the cellular data in excess. At home on wifi it never gets hot no matter how long I use it.
