Would agree in principle although I realised when I changed devices a while back that not all the apps I had downloaded over the years had backed up to the servers which is why I also use App backup and restore which does the job just fine UNROOTED (you and astrix - I don't know.......)

not to hijack this thread, but i am about to upgrade from eos 2.0 to eos 3.0 and would like to insure that my backed up apps can be resources should i need them. i did a titanium backup of the apps only last evening. can you tell me where i need to go to find them? are they contained in the titanium backup folder on the internal sd card or is that just the software itself?? if they aren't in that folder, where are they?

    thanks

Try the above link to the app apk in my dropbox, you should be able to side load it, or just uninstall yours and then reinstall it from the market, I am looking at the app info now in the market, can't see mention of any problems now?
Thanks, cazza. Downloaded the file from your dropbox. Will attempt to install it when I get home from work (Xoom is not with me atm). I checked the page again on Google Play and it still has the bug warning (at top, in description area)...

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...XBwYmFja3VwIl0.

However, I see that the app was updated just yesterday so perhaps they forgot to remove the message. I'll try it out after I get it installed and report back. Thanks again.

Wow...super frustration here. Cazza, I tried the one you so kindly provided. It installed just fine but when I ran it and attempted to backup an app, I got a message that it failed. A visit back to the Play Store revealed that a new version was just posted today so I tried that one and got the same result. I can only conclude (since it works fine for you) is that I have some setting on my Xoom that is preventing the app from working.

Not sure where to go from here.

You might want to try another back up app from the store?
Or just leave it a few days before reinstalling.
There could be a problem also if your wifi connection keeps cutting out thereby interrupting the download.
Also possible you have an app or live wallpaper running which fights it but I think that unlikely.

As an interesting aside, I tried to use Shazam on my phone yesterday to find it had completely uninstalled itself, went to the store and reinstalled expecting all my tags to have disappeared but they were all intact so it is a possibility that there is a bit of a glitchfest going on in android at the moment, not sure if anyone else has noticed?

    It's a bird
    ~In General for Android ~

    Titanium backup and location:
    - Internal SDCard > Titanium Backup folder.
    - content will be xyz.tar.gz and xyz.properties
    - To be safe. Save a copy of the Titanium Backup folder with its content to external sdcard or PC.

System Apps/Default Apps NOT advisable to back up using Titanium unless you know the work around.

If you want to mess around with default apps. Backup the apk or perform Nandroid.
    - Defaut apps location will be system/app/xyz.apk
*Note 1: Some default apps come with lib...etc.
*Note 2: If you using rooted official stock firmware. Take note of the xyz.odex (Too many to explain)
    - Free downloaded apps location will be data/app/xyz.apk
    - Paid downloaded apps location - Go and figure out yourself as you will never get the answer from me. Discuss here and I will sent you home.

    Hope it help

For non rooted devices I recommend astro file manager. It backs up apps and much more.here is a link.

I backup all my apps and I am not rooted. I use appsaver (free), all backups go to mnt/sdcard/appsaver, then I compress the entire folder name it something like 'appsaver092912.zip', and move it to external sdcard or use file manager hd (free) to wirelessly move it to my 640gb hard drive (pc)

all system apps can be backed up simply by navigating to and using copy/paste into say the appsaver folder. system apps are located /system/app

    File manager hd

Yea! Finally something that works for me! Don't know why "App Backup & Restore" refused to work on my Xoom, but "Appsaver" works fine. Thanks, rive!

One thing I notice though is that I apparently can't backup the apps that I purchased? Only the ones I got for free?
