self upgrade Moto Xoom to 4g lte

    1. 4g software build
    2. 4g lte radio minipci board/antenna (easiest way to get this may be buying a damaged/nonfunctional 4g xoom/xyboard for parts off ebay)
    3. 4g radio cdma lte baseband (get from xda developers site or here: http://goo.im/devs/teameos/radios/im...ios-update.zip)
    4. Verizon SIM card (get from Verizon wireless)
    5. Star/Torx (T5/T7) screwdriver (can be bought anywhere for less than $10) this is needed to remove two torx screws at bottom of Xoom so back will slide down, and giving access to lte radio pcie board slot

    see Step 8: http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Motor...eardown/4989/1

once you have the hardware, simpy slide down back of Xoom remove and replace dummy pcie board/radio, unlock and install lte build and lte baseband software, then stop by verizon, and get free SIM card, have it assigned to your Xoom's IMEI (settings/about tablet/status).

Software download, and instructions on how to install build/software:
    http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/moto...de-simple.html

note- step 3 may/may not be required after build changed, and may/may not require rooting and/or pushing the basband software via adb. Build will update OTA to IMM76L.

    baseband version: CDMA_N_03.1A.65P LTEDC_U_07.1F.00

ONLY install lte baseband if after update to IMM76L, you do not see the above baseband version installed ((this only applies to build update IMM76L ICS 4.0.4, any subsequent build updates after this may change the lte baseband version)

    blkin,
I just posted a thread about having a 4g modem that I do not need. I purchased a refurb 4G Xoom off of eBay and I only plan on using it for wifi. I have already removed the modem via instructions I found on here. I could not find any info on eBay regarding these modems, but I figured they still hold value. If interested, let me know.

I'm interested in that 4G card. I have a Xoom 3G that missed the upgrade. Let me know if you still have it.

    Thanks!
