Anyone try Android 4.2 Camera on Xoom YET???

Hey Gang, been doing my usual Android readings and came across this article on the New Android 4.2 Camera App w/photo sphere

Looks pretty cool but i was wondering if anyone has tried installing it on our Moto Xooms?I know they got the Galaxy Nexus 4.1.1 JB running it now too.

Since our Xooms are updated all the way to 4.1.2 any chance it could run on our systems too???

Xoom has different proprietary drivers to Galaxy phones, so I would say it's very doubtful it would work.

If anyone does decide to try it, make a nandroid backup first.

This one is supposed to be patched to work with non Nexus phones.

Didnt seem to work for me. App looked like it was installed but doesnt show up in the apps.

The Xoom has to be rooted for any of these applications. That wasn't mentioned in the OP

Did a backup, flashed a few of the zips, all failed to install. Lost my camera app and gallery app in the process. Restoring.........

was just about to give it a shot!

and, correct if in error, i believe that bigdave is "rooted" so it must just be a faulty download. how did it scan?

i got the 4.2 keyboard to install on the xoom, but it does not work as well as on the phone.

havent tried the 4.2 camera yet.

I was able to get it working on the xoom with no issue. I have created a flashable zip. You can find it in my THREAD at XDA.

Just tried your zip and get same results. It flashed ok and the hash matched so not sure why it wont work for me. Rooted running eos 150. Dont see camera or gallery in the apps.
