    Tethering in Canada

I'm travelling to Canada soon and want to tether my Droid X to my Xoom via bluetooth while I'm there. I know if I make calls from Canada to the US on my cell that international rate apply. Are there any additional charges for data use when I'm out of the US?

Can you use the X in Canada? I know that if you travel internationally you are pretty much stuck with the Droid2Global on VZW. I don't if the Canadian networks allow the X.

I'm sure someone here will be able to answer that question. You could also post this question at our sister forum Droid X Forums

as for data roaming charges, it would be best for you to contact your provider for the details, i know when we travel to the states from canada, the data roaming charges are outrageous, but can be avoided by signing up for a 1 month international roaming package.. it may cost you 30$ (what we pay) up front for the roaming packages, but i have had a couple of friends come back from trips where the roaming surcharge on the data portion of the bill were in the hundreds, and even one in the thousands of dollars... but still check with your provider, and if its not included in your current plan, add a temp international roaming package...

Ya, I would check with vzw. If you're close enough to the border you can get a signal but it'll be roaming.

Definitely sign up for the international plan for a month it will save you a lot of money in the long run.
