Checked the charger, getting no reading out of it. What a horrible charging system. That little pin is asking to be broken.

Fixed, found a charger from an old uniden phone I had. Same voltage, slightly slightly lower amps. Charging nicely now. Phew.

Tore the original apart. Can't help but think the area where the foldable prongs connect to the circuit board is the weak link.

I had this problem- turned out the charger was sensitive to the mains socket! When I used either of two Mot Originial chargers in a 4-way mains adapter bar then charging was unreliable and often failed.
When I use either charger directly in a mains socket it's fine!

Quick question (while I think of it), can one order an extra charger from Moto if they were so inclined? Unlike the original poster, I don't have an extra / older compatible charger if the unthinkable were to happen with me.
