Yeah I was thinking all they needed to do was train their techs and they should be able to do it in store eventually.

Yeah, sounds legitimate to me. And the way they made it sound, it should be possible here pretty soon. Lets hope so!

I like the idea of taking the xoom to Verizon for the 4G install better then sending it into the factory, I hate waiting for shipping!. I hope they will have this as a option!. Since I decided to keep the 3G/4G xoom instead of swapping it for the WYFI version, I think the upgrade should be done!. Even though I use my xoom WYFI contract free I believe the cell phone model will be worth more when selling down the line. Also, with the 3G/4G model you have the ability to use the Verizon month to month NO CONTRACT data plans. This option is nice when taking the xoom on the road on vacation, or business trip, and getting temporary Internet.

Would be nice if they can offer it @ the store. Just walk in and they do the upgrade.

I hate mailing thing and waiting for it ...it might be damage or lost.

I would imagine its a service that should be offered, but I'll have to check on that. Someone mentioned swapping the unit out for a 4G enabled unit, I wonder it you need to be in the return period for that even, it would be great customer service to offer that to us early xoomers.

Do you have to signed up for 3G to be eligible?
