Question Is Factory Data Reset overkill before sending in for 4G/LTE upgrade??

Is a Factory Data Reset recommended before we send our Xooms in for the 4G/LTE Upgrade?? Or, is there a less drastic option to secure it before we send them in??

Just uninstall those apps with critical data maybe??

I would probably just do a reset just in case.

    You could encrypt your data.

Thats assuming that you still make a backup for good measure.

Ya you're backing up user data like contacts and apps. Not app data though.

I was going to make a backup, then encrypt it.

My guess is Motorola will just pop it open, throw in the 4G radio, and close it back up. I doubt they'd even turn it on.

And the 4G firmware will probably come in the form of an OTA.

On second thought they might want it wiped clean because they will most likely need to test the new hardware before shipping it back to you.
