Using xoom as a laptop monitor

I am not really tech savvy, but I know alot of you out there are.
The monitor on my Dell laptop has died and i have tried to replace but
it still won't work. I am told that the moter board and all still work.
Is it possible to use my Xoom as a monitor for the laptop?

It could if you wanted to tear apart your xoom and laptop and do some soldering and....... Let's just say no, you can't! The xoom has an HDMI port that is intended only for video out.

The only way i can think this would work is if there is a VNC client for Xoom. Of course to get this to work you would already need to have a vnc server on your laptop

While its not a perfect option, try splashtop remote. You can view your screen on the xoom from anywhere in the house through your network. I use it to play hulu and netflix from my laptop to my xoom. And have even used it to "play" Worlds or Warcraft in wondows mode.

I dont know how you would be able to install the server part of splashtop on your laptop if you can't see on your monitor however, unless your using a 2nd monitor as your primary. But if thats the case, whats the point of using your Xoom?
