    Staying connected to wifi

I am having trouble staying connected to wifi in my home. When I go to settings it tells me that I am connected and that my signal strength is good or excellent. However, I am unable to logon to the internet even though it tells me I am connected. If I disconnect then reconnect to wifi, or power the device on and off, it will work for a short time, but the issue will start happening again. I never have this issue with a laptop and I checked my settings on my modem and my firewall is not enabled. Any suggestions?

What router are you using? Encryption? Have you tried turning off encryption and seeing if it works?

As a test, make sure the "SSID Broadcast" option on your wireless router is set to "ON". I find a lot of goofy things happen if the SSID broadcast is disabled.
    Keep on Xoomin'

I'm having this issue too but only on my home wifi. Im pretty sure its because of the wifi channel my router is using is causing some sort of interference with other wifi networks I have in the local vicinity, im going to change it when I next get a chance. Try giving this a go.

Download wifi analyzer. It will djow you what's on the different channels. My wife was having problems with her laptop disconnecting. I used wifi analyzer and saw that most of the wifi's were using the same channel. Switched to one nobody was using and haven't had an issue since.

Thanks for all the advice. I change my channel. I'll try it and keep you posted on how it works out.

Funny enough ... no issues with my time capsule. Can even play my media remotely!

Try giving your xoom a static IP on your home network ... sometimes the DHCP on these routers misbehave ...
