This is a discussion on Is it possible to use bluetooth headphones for music? within the Motorola Xoom General Discussion forums, part of the Motorola Xoom Forum category; Originally Posted by mobius999 Those Freedom ones look great, for the people who's ears they fit. I bought the Rocketfish RF-EX7 and I'm not sure if it's compatible with my xoom. It's paired and the xoom can see it but I can't figure out how to get sound to play.
The specs show it supports Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR. I was in a rush and now I'm offshore and can't really go back to Best Buy anytime soon. The employee said it would work with the xoom.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
Oh wait I looked up that headset and I don't think "headsets" play music. I believe they're just for calls. Hopefully someone else will chime in and correct me though!

It does show it's connected in the bluetooth settings. I believe you are right in that it only supports phone calls. A bit of a bummer and I should have done more research.
A2DP is not listed as being supported in the specs. Thanks so much for the help.
The headset/headphones need to support the A2DP protocol to use it for music. I did a review of the Motorola S10s awhile back, and would highly recommend them: Be Set Free with Bluetooth headphones | JefTek.com
Check out Best Buy Rocketfish RF-MAB2. Great sound and good range. Been using them for a few months now and I love them. around 50 bucks.
Samsung makes a Stereo Modus series. I have the HM3500 I think. While a mono Bluetooth headset, it lets you plug in any standard 3.5mm set you may already own / want to get. It essentially allows use of wired earbuds / headphones wirelessly. Not for everyone but inexpensive, flexible and practical.
