I work for a headset manufacturer (other than Jabra and Plantronics) and can truly say one-size-fits-all does not work. One of my competitors offers custom buds to fit, and I wish more people would make them. It's worth $20 to have buds that are tailor-made to fit YOUR ears. I should mention the custom fit is on business headsets for the office, not bluetooth, otherwise you can be sure I'd own one.
A fair opinion! Thanks for the insight. You may very well have talked me into sticking with my Backbeats!
    Keep on Xoomin'

I bought the Rocketfish RF-EX7 and I'm not sure if it's compatible with my xoom. It's paired and the xoom can see it but I can't figure out how to get sound to play.
The specs show it supports Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR. I was in a rush and now I'm offshore and can't really go back to Best Buy anytime soon. The employee said it would work with the xoom.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Does it say connected in the BT settings? Is the volume up on xoom and the headphones?

Oh wait I looked up that headset and I don't think "headsets" play music. I believe they're just for calls. Hopefully someone else will chime in and correct me though!

It does show it's connected in the bluetooth settings. I believe you are right in that it only supports phone calls. A bit of a bummer and I should have done more research.

Many do actually. Check the specs of yours to see if it supoprts A2DP. That's the standard for streaming music over bluetooth.

A2DP is not listed as being supported in the specs. Thanks so much for the help.

The headset/headphones need to support the A2DP protocol to use it for music. I did a review of the Motorola S10s awhile back, and would highly recommend them: Be Set Free with Bluetooth headphones | JefTek.com

Check out Best Buy Rocketfish RF-MAB2. Great sound and good range. Been using them for a few months now and I love them. around 50 bucks.

Samsung makes a Stereo Modus series. I have the HM3500 I think. While a mono Bluetooth headset, it lets you plug in any standard 3.5mm set you may already own / want to get. It essentially allows use of wired earbuds / headphones wirelessly. Not for everyone but inexpensive, flexible and practical.
