    Buyers Remorse....?

Hey guys, I bought my Xoom the first day it came out. I love the device. I think the screen, processor and overall feel of honeycomb is just so cool. I am an early adopter and I think its amazing and it has so much potential. But with that said I'm having alittle bit of buyers remorse. First off is $800 which is a pretty penny. I think that if it was cheaper I wouldn't be contemplating returning it. I app market is not there at all which is pretty disappointing. I browser keeps loading mobile sites which annoys me and its not flash enabled.

Bottom line is I bought it from Best Buy and I have till March 10th to return it. What do you guys think about your Xoom? Has anyone else has this idea? Thanks!

You can always make your browser stop loading mobile sites.

    Goto your browser
    goto the address about:debug
Your screen will appear to have done nothing. but now go to your settings and you have a debug option. Under Debug change the UA to desktop.

I too am thinking about returning it but for different reasons. I had a iPad 3g before this and support the networks for several companies. I rely heavily on Logmein to do this. Unfortunately logmein was not and is still not ready with their Ignition app which I simply must have on my tablet. They wont give even a rough estimate on when it will be out so if it is not out by the time my return period is up I will probably return it and get an iPad again.

The app store IS a bit lean but the basic things you want a tablet to do are covered well with stock apps. Least for me.

    Reasons to keep it.

    1) Better hardware only means better apps down the road
    2) Gorila Glass is awesome
    3) Better screen size and shape then iPad
    4) Better OS then the iPad
    5) Camaras on it work quite well for both photos and video
    6) Google apps are nice especially google maps and navigation as free tools.
    7) If you have the 3g/4g model once Line2 gets off their butt and updates their app you can pair a bluetooth headset with your Xoom and wave goodbye to your cell if you were so inclined.

Question: Why would you let ANYBODY influence your decision about whether to keep it or not, let alone a group of people who have no idea what your needs are, and how you apply this tool to your life?

This is a tool. Not a status symbol. It's like a gun. You get the right one for your application, and use it how you need to use it (home defense, hunting, protection, etc.).

All of the issues that you've mentioned WILL be fixed. You need to decide if you're willing to go through the "beta" process with this thing or defer to a later time. There were somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-35 prototypes built pre-launch. That's IT. They were handed out the weekend of CES, so you're getting an idea of how new these pads are. They are in their infancy. And you're part of the growing pains being associated with it. And even knowing that, I bothered my buddy at Motorola weekly to find out when I would get my hands on my very own Xoom. And I'm glad that I did. Though he put a hit out on me.

As an addendum: Sanjay Jha was given his Xoom the same time as the sales reps the weekend prior to the start of CES.

I'll be keeping mine. Like theonegod posted you can keep it from going to mobile sites, flash is supposed to be added within the next few weeks and we should start seeing more tablet apps soon. No one really had a reason to make Android tablet apps since there wasn't enough people out there with Android tablets. Now that the Xoom is out it will get peoples attention.

Because he realizes that there may be reasons that he is not considering. Why would you close yourself completely off from the opinions of others? He isn't telling people to tell him what to do. he is looking for other perspectives that will give him more information. Judge much?
