[HowTo] turn off Xoom so that screen does not get locked?

Just tried a lock + screen search without sucess. So either a completely noob question or a bad day ;-).
I've adjusted my Xoom to lock 10min after screen turns off.
It works great, when the Xoom goes into standby by itself. It does not wok when I turn off the Xoom with a short push on the power button.
So how do I put the Xoom into standby without locking it?

At least yours locks. Mine hasn't been able to lock since I bought it. I've gone into the settings and I don't even have an option for the lockscreen. If anyone knows how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I do have in the settings under location and security a section "lock screen" with a function called "time out".

Or, you can lock as "not secured" (how the Xoom comes out of the box), with a swipe pattern on a grid of dots (very cool), a PIN number (sooo yesterday!), or password (see PIN)

But I wantnto keep the lock feature to prevent my kids using the Xoom unattended but I frequently turn the screen off for short periods. Eg. when changing from train to underground, when talking to someone (to show theattention), etc. And sometimes it sucks if I have to enter then PIN over and over again...

Look down the list after tapping "Location & Security". There is a section saying "My Location", then "Lock Screen." Under there, you should see 'Configure lock screen'.

As for the OP... There is only the time out, but only up to 30 minutes...

Nope. There is nothing under lock screen on mine. That was the first place I checked. I normally figure these things out on my own, but I think something is wrong with my xoom. 10 days old and it has never locked. As you can see I don't even have that option.

Yeah there's definately something wrong. Maybe you got a refurbished unit?
