connecting xoom via usb cable

I've been wasting lots of time today trying to solve the same thing. XP SP3, I've tried on 2 different machines. One is a fresh OS install. With USB Debugging ON, XP finds a device "MTP". With debugging OFF, XP finds "MZ604". I have the Moto drivers installed, both running the downloaded EXE and then fiddling with the stuff in Programs -> Motorola.

Any help you could give this Xoom/Android newbie (I've been using it for all of one day...) is appreciated.

Try installing (or reinstalling) Windows Media Player 11. This should get you up and running.

I have windows xp sp2 installed on my computer and i installed, reinstalled windows media player 11 and installed motorola driver 5.0 and still, it can't find the driver for MTP?? . Can anyone help me out there?

Make sure you're using one of the usb ports in the back or your puter, not one of the front aux ports. Wouldn't think it would make a difference, but it does.
