factory reset but forogt to backup pictures and videos

Hi,
I got a xoom from verizon. I didn't root it. I took a lot of pictures and videos by xoom. But i forgot to backup those pictures and videos before I factory reset the devices. And I lost all the valuable picutres. I was trying to use some data recovery software to recover my pictures, however, the computer windows 7 recognize xoom as a " protable devices" , so those recovery software cannot detect this "protable devices" like external drive.

Anyone got any idea how to recover these data... thankyou so much..

I don't think you can use a Windows to recover info on your Xoom because of the difference in file systems.

You might want to consider downloading an app like File Manager HD that is capable of searching your xoom's files.
Good Luck! Those photos are likely gone.

Unfortunately the factory reset wipes all user info. Download astro file manager from market and go to the dcim folder. This is where all pics/vids are stored. If they're on the device then that's where they'd be.

Now there is less chances to recover your data from your system because a system restore of factory restore reset your system to factory settings and the data on the hard drive is lost, a data recovery software is unable to recover data from a over written hard drive sectors, but you should try at least may be some of your data can be recover. use kernel for fat and ntfs hard drive data recovery software through which in scan mode you can see the available or recoverable data on the hard drive in red color, if it exist. then you can save it to your location. No other way left to get back your data.

Too bad the files aren't in SD card otherwise, Recuva could have worked.
