Seagate 500gb, Western Digital 500gb. Externals without power supplies.

Forgot to put mine in, also a USB powered western digital 250 GB. Guess I'll also included what didn't work. Lacie 300 GB powered with power supply. Was hoping to get more feedback out there. Might help other in the hunt as well for relieable HD's.
Just picked up a seagate 1.5TB that's NTFS formatted and mounts up and works great on xoom. Not sure of the battery life of xoom when it's connected. Would be nice if the speaker dock had USB connections.
Your battery life will suffer because it is also powering the drive, but it is definitely worth it. Is that 1.5TB drive USB powered?

Yes, it's USB powered. Guess I will have to see how long the power will last.
Heads up, as far as I know most, if not all, Western Digital drives come pre-formatted in FAT 32. That shouldn't be a problem though, I prefer it that way over NTFS.

Xoom Unlocked, Rooted, Themed, and Overclocked at 1.4, now testing 1.5.
You can add your own like I did.Just takes a a dremel and a little bit of work.
As far as battery life goes, I wouldn't leave it connected for long, just copy the movie (or other set of files) you want to access to your Xoom temporarily and then disconnect the hard drive.
2 x 320gb samsung hard drives, one encased in 'VZTEC' casing and the other in 'ICIDU' casing. both worked fine in usb powered and NTFS format.
