Xoom and Friends....................

I have had the Xoom now for over a month in Hong Kong. Still loving it and today I have just completed my mobile unit team lol. I have a wifi version and am still waiting for the update and usage of the sd card as I have lots of Wav lossless music onboard that has eaten up nearly all of my memory.

The Xoom's first friend was a pair of Westone 4 IEMs. Ideal companion due to the spectacular sound of the Xoom as a DAP.

Today I have really made the Xoom mobile as I have just received the Samsung Galaxy S2. It really is a great phone and ideal companion, the best feature being the facility to use it as an mobile access point which has made my Xoom truly mobile. I have it on a 3.5g or HSPA+ as they call it here at a maximum speed of 21mbps but in real situations providing around 10mbps in my area which is fast enough for most uses.

The only downside to the Galaxy S2 is the quality of the music player. Samsung phones usually are one of the best sounding ones around if people chooses to use it as a mp3 player, well on the S2, it sounds worst than my daughters GIO and a lot worst than the Galaxy S stock and ofcourse with Voodoo+. They decided to use a Yamaha Dac iso of the german one in previous phones. Lucky I have the Xoom with me at all times.

Sorry if of-topic but the S2 phone has made the Xoom just that much better and convenient for my purposes.

I have to move to an Android phone as well seeing as how I won't be purchasing another iOS product. I was pairing my iPhone 4 to it initially before activating the data plan through Verizon. I am awaiting the arrival of the S2 here in the U.S. Does yours have the physical home button? I have read that they are removing it from AT&T's version(called the Attain). How popular is the Xoom over there?

yes the S2 hv the physical home button. the s2 is causing quite a storm here 2 -4 weeks wait list. similar buzz to iphones. best phone at present. supposedly gonna be a s2+ in Sept. wonder would that be the one without the physical home button???

Xoom not so popular really. funnily the sammy 7inch sold really well...........I had one, lol, sux in comparison. see how the 10.1 and 8.9s do when they are sold officially in a couple of weeks time. the buzz hvnt been tht great on the grey market though, only a 20% premium. while ipad2 had a 80% premium as did the galaxt s2.
