especially when the 64GB iPad 2 for Verizon is only $829. I paid 840 for my 32GB Xoom, and another 32GB SD card is over over $100??

My mistake, it's actually not too bad.. still, would've been nice for Moto to include it.

32 gigs is good for me. The price of sd cards drops so fast that I think by the time I need it, they'll cost maybe $50. I haven't filled my X's 16gig card and I've had it since launch. Movies I can move on/off and I have about 8gigs of music. I really don't think there's a need to have 50gigs of music when you only listen to 10% of it. Just my thoughts.

Well Playing the devils advocate here:

    1. When the device was designed there were no 32 GB cards pre ordering them would be "super pricey"
    2. Driving up the cost on already expensive device is "not smart"
    3. Now a 32 GB is like $72 while a 16GB card is only $20
    4. I do not want or need such a huge card. Why would I want to pay extra to buy a Xoom?
    5. They only so much of a margin on the device. Adding an SD card would alter the ability of the company to make $$$

As a xoom owner I think them not shiping an SD card is not a big deal. It came with 32gb anyway. I use my zoom for movies and really I have several movies on it. If I want more room I don't mind adding it. It is called options. The price tag goes down on the SD cards quickly. The price of early adoption to tecnology is not always the cheapest route. You have to pay for the goods.

I filled my D1's 16GB Memory Card time and time again, finally wiping the card clean and buying a 160GB iPod which I have already filled halfway, chances are I will buy a 4GB (which costs close to nothing) for my D1 and using the 16GB for my Xoom, so yeah in my case not really a big deal, what's another twenty bucks, right...but still, it should have shipped with some kind of card, cause after eight hundred plus, twenty is a lot -

Oh #6 - Can you imagine how much more PO people would be having a 32 GB card they could not use?

I agree with several statements here, but I must point out that the price comparison between the iPad2 is irrelevant, its already common knowledge that the Xoom's hardware beats out the iPad2 in almost every way and lets not so quickly dismiss our free 4g upgrade which if done by Apple would easily cost you $199 because there is nothing Apple loves more than charging your for absolutely anything extra, or what they deem extra! I'd rather have the freedom of the Android OS and the hardware advantages of the Xoom over the iPad2, Apple's greedmongering any day.

And I do think 64g of storage is a bit much, 32g on a mobile device should keep me sated for a while to come. However I would like Moto to get the update out to activate the SD slot for numerous reasons.

That thought crossed my mind, but SD support is coming - best guess is an SD Card is not
