XOOM mounted with RAM MOUNT in GMC Sierra

Finally pulled the trigger and bought a RAM Mount to mount the XOOM in my GMC Sierra truck. It couldn't have been much easier and it works and holds great! I got really tired to putting my XOOM in my passenger seat and then having to hold it to type or whatever. I am on the road a lot so this is going to work out great! I also have a charger hard wired that I can plug in that is hidden (when needed) and I just pull it out when needed... which is very rare.

I have an Incipio Silicrylic Case (which I really dig) on my XOOM so here is what I used:

    Ram Mount RAM-HOL-TAB6U RAM Tab-Tite
Ram Mount RAM-B-138U-C Mount - C Arm with 2.5 Inch Round Base and Diamond Adaptor - RAM Mount (U)

    Here are some pics:

Oh, I forgot about the only real downside as of now. The hole on the back of the ram mount does not line up with the power button on the XOOM so it is a bit of a pain to try to turn it on. My answer is going to try and find an app of some sort that just lets you touch the screen to turn on the XOOM (although it may be something it already has, I just haven't looked into it yet).

Very nice. About the power button, can't you just drill a bigger hole?

Well, yes and no. There is a hole there but is not in the right place. I could drill a hole but I dont have a drill bit large enough (the size of the power button) and it wouldnt look very good. Isnt there an app or something that turns on the screen when touching it?

Nice clean install. The just be sure you don't leave it charging in a hot car. There's been one post of overheating and serious damage from that

Good call on leaving it charging. I rarely charge it in the vehicle anyway, it is more there for emergencies. But it has been in the 100's here so that is a concern. In fact, I dont even like leaving it in the car when I run into a clients office because the XOOM has got to about 120 before and I dont like pushing it.

    Ram Mount RAM-HOL-TAB6U RAM Tab-Tite
I have the same Tab-Tite holder for my Xoom too (it uses a spring to adjust to size), although my basemount is different and attaches to the rear view mirror. It has holes at both corners so there's no incorrect way of inserting it.

The Tab Tite holes align perfectly with the Xoom's power buttun on mine, so it's probably the Incipio Silicrylic Case that's causing the mal-alignment on your's. Other than removing the Incipio while mounted, you'd have to resize the hole. A dremel and a little patience would probably do a good job without making it look like crap.

This scares me. lol I have been using a pen to pish the power button and seems to work. But I still would like the idea of touching the screen to turn it on.
