Apostrophe Won't Translate in Corporate Sync Email

Whenever I compose an email from my corporate sync email interface using my Xoom the apostrophe will not translate on the receiving end. It looks fine in my typed message. For example, I get the following for contractions: I'd for I'd; Won'dt for Won't; let's for let's and so on. Anybody had this issue and found the problem?

(An aside, I could not post this thread using my Xoom. I could not type within this frame. It kept jumping up to the search bar???)

Very bizarre. Are you using the default keyboard or an addon program?

i use the standard touch keys of the Xoom or the Motorola wireless keyboard. Same result with both.

Does the receiving email client matter when reproducing the problem? Have you tested this with multiple receivers?

The ' to &apos is a typical XML translation issue. I would need to know the email client you are using on the receiving end to be much help.

I had the same problem until I upgraded to 3.2. It then went away.

I posted a bug on this when 3.1 came out. As poster above noted, it is fixed in 3.2.

The receiving email client doesn't matter - it was an acknowledged bug in the 3.1 mail app. OP, when you see bugs like this, it is extremely useful to go to the Android issues list, and if you find the issue, "star" it, which (in theory) nudges up the priority a little. The more of us do that, the more likely we'll see fixes.

Can you provide a link to the Android known issues list that you are using?

The problem appears to occur only when I send emails from corporate sync to other recipients on my company mail, multiple recipients. When I send an email from corp sync to say a gmail recipient, I don't have the problem. It is an Outlook exchange mail system.

I have not updgraded to 3.2 yet (have to find it). I see that it has supposedly launched for the Xoom.

Yes you need to either wait for it to be available as a system update, or root your Xoom and apply it manually yourself.
