Getting Wallpapers to Fit Just Right

Was trying to fit wallpapers to my Xoom and noticed that it looked like they were constantly being zoomed in when applied. Here's a guide on how I made my wallpapers fit the screen just right.

    Normal Application of Wallpaper:

    Modified Application of Wallpaper:

When applying a wallpaper regularly I found that you only get a portion of the wallpaper and couldn't figure out where the rest of it was going. I found that when you press the + at the top right of your homescreen, the rest of the wallpaper is revealed in the background:

For this guide I am using a 1920x1280 wallpaper. All that has to be done is to open the wallpaper in paint and adding in a black space at the bottom. The end result will look like this:

The modified image now has a size of 1920x1430. Apply the new image as your wallpaper and you should now see the full image in the background!

What happens when you put your tablet in landscape?

    Edit portrait mode.

I guess you mean portrait? Looks like theres an extended bottom bar. Portrait doesn't look or preform good anyway so I avoid it on my homescreens.

Nothing is being blacked out. Just adding a black space under it. For the example I added a 150px high black space.

Great idea! But I wish it would look good on portrait.

Thanks for the tips. Ya portrait isn't ideal IMO unless you're reading a book.

Ok. I found a cheat. First download photile from the market (free). After installed choose a image, then go to the theme manager and choose slow day.. or night I forget. The one that says slow. Now turn off fade, then turn off touch. Finally, set screen shift to 0. Set wallpaper and bam.

Edit: in order to be able to flip the screen you must also set the tiles to the smallest size

One more time for this app Wallpaper Wizardrii, it saved me a lot of hassle on this issue! Works in both portrait and landscape, scrollable or not

P.S. alright, that's my last post about it, lol
