[How To] Root the Motorola Xoom

I'm not using this guide. In an effort to avoid searching for the newest, most applicable thread for 2 hours, I picked the one that looked fairly new and was subject-matter appropriate. And here I am.

Problem: On the two Xooms I'm working on, the command "fastboot oem unlock" does not work! After the command it just sit's there until have have to CtrlC to break the command. (I'm using LInux as my PC).

The steps described there are just what I've been doing. Including getinng the device number before I issue the unlock command. But it always hangs looking for the device?
