SDcard System Image Backup Using ClockworkMod Recovery v3.2.0.0.(RC4). Back yours up today!
Yes, I would go ahead and flash the recovery and then do your backup. When you restore it seems like it's not going to happen, checking the md5 seems like it take 2 -3 minutes.

SDcard System Image Backup Using ClockworkMod Recovery v3.2.0.0.(RC4). Back yours up today!
Hi All
I am still fairly new to Android. I had some practice with my two Advent Vega. They were working well on Vegacomb, but their batteries and screen not so well. I got them exchanged few days ago for two new Xooms and a small amount of money, Xooms being reduced in the UK.
I was really excited until I tried to update my sd-cards. The Vega would mount straight away as a mass storage, but the Xoom is not recognised by my Powerbook OSX 10.4 [in slave mode]. Really frustrating.
But the most annoying is Rom Manager not working properly.
It refuses to flash Clockworkmod. The latest v4.4.0.7 .
When I try, I get "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!"
I tried without the sd-card, no change.
Could the latest update of HC 3.1 have something to do with it? I tried to run Rom Manager on both and the results remain the same.
I am scratching my head now, as Rom Manager worked so well on the Vegas.
Any enlightenments possible on thes scratching matters?
Thanks
T.
Welcome to the forum.Glad you decided to join us. There are only two recoveries recommended for the Motorola Xoom.

and

I would advise against the use of Rom Manager, if you need to boot to recovery use Quick Boot in the market, free.
