Red face Xoom not recognized on Windows XP

I hooked up my Xoom to my desktop computer running Windows XP. It recognized my Xoom and I transferred photos and music to my Xoom. I unplugged my Xoom and shut off both the computer and Xoom. Today I hooked up my Xoom to the same computer and it will not recognize my Xoom.

That's odd, I'm running XP and haven't had any problems connecting my Xoom and having it recognized.

Running Windows 7 64bit and also have the same problem. Now when I attach it to my desktop it displays the Xoom, asks if I want to synch or import photos but then says there's nothing new and I can no longer browse the Xoom through My Computer.

Yes you need the motohelper 4.9.0 from here to keep all drivers running correctly and up to date. Also try a different USB port.

That's what they are probably missing. I have Motorola media link to sync my pics, vids and music from my phones to my pc and it looks for driver updates all the time. The software hasn't recognized my Xoom yet but my computer does.

Ok I'll give that a shot tonight. Thanks for the advice. I was a bit worried maybe something was wrong with my cable since it had worked before but now thinking about it they just updated the OS so maybe there were feature changes relating to the USB port.

No go. Installed the Moto drivers and still only get a blank Xoom window and nothing will synch (media player or right-clicking and selecting synch on the Xoom device listed under My Computer). I was able to browse it before the first couple nights I had it because I dumped about 10G of music onto it and 6 movies along with about 20 books. Would rooting it make things any easier from either of my Win7 64bit systems? My debian install won't even recognize it and I don't feel like installing the MTP drivers in debian for this.
