No Wifi after root. Will upgrading fix?

Well then, I just mistakenly followed the instructions to root my 3.2.1 xoom, but the instructions were for 3.2. Of course now my wifi doesnt work, which pretty much makes this thing useless. So time to retrace.

The whole point of me rooting was to get my device to run Cyanogenmod 9 or ICS. If I were to download and update to that rom now that i am rooted will that most likely solve me issue or do I need to step further back. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You should probably return to stock and start over, you don't want to compound your problems. Here's a link with the images and instructions in the upper right, you'll need the motorola drivers and adb setup on your PC. You'll need to set up an account to download them and they all are fastboot images.

are the motorola drivers any different than the ones I just used to root the device the first time?

Should be the same. You could backup what you have now in CWM and try and flash Moray 2.2.2. If it didn't get wifi back you could restore or just go back to stock from there. If it were me, I's go to stock and start from scratch.
