    Xoom will not boot up

I've had my Xoom for about 9 months and loved it until the other day. I went to turn it on and got nothing. I have tried to hard boot it. I've held to power button for over a minute and every other trick that I have found from these forums. Still no luck. Am I missing something? I realize that it may have to be sent back, but wanted to try every option. Thanks in advance for any and all ideas.

Welcome to the forum.Glad you decided to join us. Are you sure it's getting a charge? The chargers are a known issue. If the charging light comes on, let it charge until it turns green and then press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot.

Thanks for answering. I've actually let it run down and then recharged it fully with no positive results. I read about that from another forum.

Do you have an sdcard in it? There's been reports of turning the Xoom off, taking the sdcard out and then it fully boots.

Hi - could you help with a XOOM tablet issue similar to the one above?

Motorola XOOM on Android 3.2 (the same problem occurred in the same way on 3.1 as well).

This usually happens when the battery is (very) low, but has happened a few times when the unit was fully charged. Power-on produces the "M" symbol, but this does not clear to the crystals, or the equivalent on 3.2. Yo can't power the unit-off, using power+vol_up causes an apparent boot, but to the same condition. The only remedy appears to be to let the battery drain, and then fully charge the unit.

Does anyone know, is the any way to force a power-cycle?

    Thanks and regards /Ed

Welcome to the forum.Glad you decided to join us. Try a soft reboot, press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot, then release them both.

My Xoom Wifi refused to power on this evening. It has been plugged into the charger all day, so it ought to be charged, but I don't see any indicator light now. It's only about 10 months old...

Is there any way to test the charger to make sure it is putting out juice? I have a VOM, but its not obvious where to make contact.

If your charging light isn't coming on and turning green I'd say you have a bad charger and that's a known issue.

Could be the charger, though I believe it is fully charged right now. In any case, I contacted Moto via the online support chat and they said "it's under warranty - send it back".

I notice there have been 3 of these reported here, all about the same age. Hope it's not indicative of a problem with all of them.
