Xoom won't turn on, won't take a charge, won't do a reboot
I recently just got back my xoom. My little brothers had stolen it from me and it has been gone for about two months, and so I knew that it would be completely dead when I got it back. I plugged it in this morning, and it was doing that flashing red light when I tried to power it on. I figured that it just needed to get charged a little before I could turn it on. I tried to turn it on twice and the start up screen would come on and then the screen would just go black. And I also noticed that when it was on the charger that the light was not on.
I tried to do the reboot thing where I hold the power button and the volume up button at the same time, but that did nothing. The charger I use is just a general usb charger that I use on my phone and my kindle, and the cord is actually the one that came with my xoom.
Any ideas on what I can do? I've already tried to plug it into my computer, and my computer doesn't say anything is connected.
Thanks so much!

Your Xoom battery totally drain out. You need to charge using wall charger for minimum of 8 hours till the light indicator turn green to make it FULL charge.

Xoom cannot charge using USB port, you need to have wall plug charger to charge.

Glad you decided to join us. Like Astrix said charge until the indicator turns green of at least 30 minutes and then do a soft reboot, press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot, then release them both.

Glad you decided to join us. We need a little more information, what where you doing when this happened? You can try taking the sdcard out, then do a soft reboot - press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot, then release them both.

I have a similar problem as darchiuk.
I spent last week on a conference in San Francisco, and decided to try to bring just the Xoom and a new bluetooth keyboard for note taking, and not the laptop.
This was the keyboard I bought from Amazon for the conference:
Amazon.com: Slim Folding Leather Case Cover with Bluetooth Keyboard for Motorola Xoom Tablet 10.1-Inch: Computers & Accessories
It worked pretty well for a couple of days, then suddenly on day three, when I had started taking notes in the morning, the Xoom wouldn't wake up after the screen had timed out. I had it on charge the entire night (on the original wall charger) so the battery should be pretty filled up.
I tried to hold the pwr button for several seconds (up to 30, I guess), I tried vol up + power, nothing helped.
It was stone dead.
When I got back to the hotel, I plugged it in, thinking /maybe/ I had forgotten to charge it last night or maybe the plug hadn't been fully in.
Chargelight lit up white, and after a while (I went out to eat) it was green.
But still it wouldn't boot or respond at all.
I left it unplugged for 3 days, now I'm back home, I've taken out the MicroSD, plugged it to the wall charger, and tried again the powerbutton several times, tapping it, holding it for 0,5 sec, 2 secs, 30 secs, the same with vol up + power (I even tried vol down + pwr).
I am getting really worried now, the warranty is expired (besides it's a US Wifi, but I live in Norway, so sending it back is a bit of a hassle...), and I can think of no more tricks...
Only thing is to leave it alone for weeks to let the battery empty itself, maybe there is some sort of weird software crash that can be "reset" if it looses all power in the battery and its circuits..?
I'm pretty desperate here, so any help at all is highly appreciated!
Thanks,
Christopher

Some times tapping the volume up button will get it to reboot.

I have tryed that, and nothing, I do have a factory cable, but still no booting, just goes to see xoom as a nvidia usb boot recovery, no fastboot or adb, any way to flash under nvidia usb boot recovery ? i have tryed with battery not connected, then fully charged and keeped on when green light, but still dead, i cant send back to motorola as i cant get the serial number "not on the box" i am sure there must be a way to fix, but the bootloader is locked "comes up with 4x0" when trying nflash. Motorola seems to fix them very quickly if the same problem ? anybody out there knows how to fix. Thanks.

Hello darchiuk, I have the same problem, I just tryed to use volume up + power, but don't do anything. I really don't know how to do, have you found the solution for this error of the Xoom?
I am thinking that put it off the battery could be function to reset the system, but I am not sure.
Please, help me with this issue if you know something to do.

Glad you decided to join us. When you plug in to the charger does the indicator light show you are getting a charge? The chargers are a known issue on the Xoom. If it is charging, leave it on the charger until the charge indicator turns green and then another 30 minutes. Now try a soft reboot, press and hold the power button and the volume up button together until the Xoom starts to reboot, then release them both. You may need to attempt this more than once.
